NobleNet Web(TM) Version 2.0 Gets Customization Capability
NobleNet announces availability of NobleNet Web Version 2.0, an automatic browser-based file distribution software that uses the Web as the access for download and version control. NobleNet Web significantly reduces application distribution costs, guarantees file transfer integrity and automatic version control to insure that users always have access to the latest versions. No changes to existing code or files are necessary to use NobleNet Web.
"Companies wanting to extend applications and update files over the Internet or intranets have found that deployment is a complicated and costly process," said Bruce H. Rampe, President and CEO of NobleNet. "NobleNet Web delivers point and click access to new and existing applications using conventional web browsers. The entire process takes a few minutes with no code changes. It's the practical solution for a major problem facing thousands of companies who have discovered how costly applications distribution can be." Rampe commented.
With NobleNet Web you place a sealed package of an application client or set of binary files on a Web server. On the client side, a plug-in provides secure access to the latest version of the sealed package using a mouse click against an icon on the Web page. Version 2.0 permits customization of the graphics on the client machine.
Administrators can choose to enforce version control. With version control on, NobleNet Web downloads only file components that have changed since the last access. This technique can guarantee that all users are operating with the latest file versions, price lists, data sheets or other forms that change over time. NobleNet Web 2.0 gives the administrator flexibility to make trade off decisions regarding centralized control versus user control, mandatory update versus incremental update, network bandwidth utilization and administration time.
NobleNet Web is available as software that seals and deploys applications. The software cost starts at $2500. The Opener plug-in is available at no charge. Free demonstration software can be downloaded from http://www.noblenet.com .
